In the article, VinePair explores the familiar ritual of grabbing a drink before a flight and asks industry pros what they trust most at an airport bar. The roundup includes a wide range of answers, from gin and tonics and Aperol Spritzes to local beer, whiskey, mezcal, and martinis.
Kendall shared that she tends to stick to gin- and vodka-based drinks while traveling. In the feature, she says she’ll often start with an Espresso Martini for a little caffeine, then switch to a gin Dirty Martini before a longer flight as a kind of “nap cap” to help her settle in and rest. She also notes that she usually trusts the bartender’s recommendation when it comes to the gin or vodka used in those drinks.
