Deep South Magazine Shares the Story Behind little bird

We’re honored to be featured in a recent article by Deep South Magazine, which highlights the heart, history, and inspiration behind little bird in downtown Fairhope.

Titled “A Taste of Love,” the piece explores how Chef Bill Briand’s personal story shaped the vision for the restaurant—from the influence of his late mother, Virginia Eileen Briand, to the deeply rooted Southern hospitality that guides every detail of the dining experience.

The article reflects on how food, memory, and connection all come together at little bird, capturing the intention behind both the menu and the atmosphere. It also highlights Chef Briand’s approach to Gulf Coast cuisine: thoughtful, ingredient-driven, and grounded in comfort.

“Every dish has meaning behind it,” the article notes, emphasizing the emotional connection woven throughout the restaurant’s story.

We’re grateful to Deep South Magazine for sharing our story and for recognizing the care and purpose that went into creating little bird.
