We’re excited to share that SoulGrown recently featured the launch of Little Bird Pinot Noir, the first custom wine created by Deep Roots Restaurant Group in partnership with Left Coast Estate in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Published on May 19, 2026, the article highlights the project as a meaningful milestone for the Fairhope-based hospitality group and its evolving wine program.
According to the feature, the custom Pinot Noir was created specifically for Little Bird and The Hope Farm after years of friendship with Left Coast Estate. Will Jones, COO and Wine Director for Deep Roots Restaurant Group, described the project as a “connective moment” between the team and a winery they have long admired. He traveled to Oregon with co-owners Robert and Bentley Evans and Executive Chef Bill Briand to taste single-vineyard barrels and develop the final blend with winemaker Joe Wright.
SoulGrown reports that the final wine blends fruit from three vineyards on the Left Coast Estate property — South Block, Field of Dreams, and High Acre — resulting in a Pinot Noir with notes of black cherry, ripe strawberry, clove, violet, and cocoa. The article also notes that the wine was intentionally designed to pair with menu favorites at Little Bird, including pork belly, stuffed quail, and lighter seasonal dishes like golden beet salad.
